I’m Nico Huysamen. I lead and grow software teams.

I am a former medical student who discovered a passion for engineering that I couldn't ignore. After switching my focus to computer science, I earned my undergraduate, Honours, and Masters degrees from the University of Stellenbosch.

With years of experience as a full-stack software engineer specializing in Java and Go, I have honed my skills and proven my ability to tackle complex architectural problems. However, my true passion lies in building and leading high-performance engineering teams. I enjoy being able to work on strategic initiatives and driving change within a company, all while building customer-focused solutions.

While I still keep my coding skills up-to-date, I now focus on managing and developing teams to reach their full potential.

Outside of work, I am a family man with a supportive wife and two wonderful children who keep me busy and fulfilled.
